Pay per click syndrome infects facebook users

Facebook has taken the Philippines by storm as it is now the fastest growing social networking site in the country.

Filipinos, being natural networkers, are creating Facebook accounts at a very fast clip.

Of course, this doesn't mean that Friendster is being abandoned.

I know quite a few people who are actively maintaining personal accounts in Friendster, Multiply and Facebook. I just wonder how they find time for it.

I recently noticed that the pictures of a very pretty Japanese pornstar, Maria Ozawa, is being tagged with the names of several facebook users. Some are Filipinos.

Getting tagged in facebook makes your profile appear in the news feed of your network of friends.

The fan club of Maria Ozawa also gets advertised.

I wonder if someone is doing a facebook experiment.

Blast from the Past #2

This is another anecdote about my son who was five years old when this happened.

My children and I attended the birthday party of a neighbor, a corpulent woman in her late 40's.

The birthday celebrator put my son on the spot when she asked, "Do you find me sexy?"

Several visitors heard her, and waited for my son's reply.

My son who was embarassed, hesitatingly replied, "Isn't it a sin to tell a lie?"

A Filipino bachelor's blast from the past #I

This happened about a decade ago when I wasn't yet a legally-recycled bachelor.

It was the 90th birthday of my paternal grandmother [My grandmother lived until she was 98. She died last December]. My three year old son wanted to try Coke.

Not wanting him to start craving for soft drinks, I went to the kitchen, got a warm bottle of Coke, opened it, inserted a straw and let my son take a sip.

Wonder of wonders! He didn't like the taste.

So, I was quite happy with my quick-thinking self when turned to return the bottle of Coke in the kitchen.

After a step, I heard my father tell my son, "Here, try a cold one."

Stuck in the 80's Music

I am thankful to youtube.com for being around. Lately, it has become my favorite platform for entertainment, mainly for searching, watching and listening to old MTV clips.

Since I have forgotten most of the songs' titles and the bands, typing part of the lyrics in the search bar usually does the job. Quite convenient to someone who is becoming forgetfull lately. Definitely, it has something to do with ageing. Oh well...

Negativity in the scientific community

I was reading a wikipedia entry on Nicola Tesla and came upon these quotes.

When asked about Thomas Edison, his former boss, he said,

He had no hobby, cared for no sort of amusement of any kind and lived in utter disregard of the most elementary rules of hygiene ... His method was inefficient in the extreme, for an immense ground had to be covered to get anything at all unless blind chance intervened and, at first, I was almost a sorry witness of his doings, knowing that just a little theory and calculation would have saved him 90 per cent of the labor. But he had a veritable contempt for book learning and mathematical knowledge, trusting himself entirely to his inventor's instinct and practical American sense.

On Einstein's relativity theory:

...magnificent mathematical garb which fascinates, dazzles and makes people blind to the underlying errors. The theory is like a beggar clothed in purple whom ignorant people take for a king ... its exponents are brilliant men but they are metaphysicists rather than scientists ...[

Blog Post of a Filipino Bachelor

Well, it has been a while since I posted an article.

So far, this blog has been holding up pretty well in the SERP. Yes, the keyword phrase "Filipino Bachelor" is not really competitive but it still gives me satisfaction considering that my neighbors post updates quite regularly.

Till next post.

MyBlogLog verifies the legally-recycled bachelor

MyBlogLog requires this post for verification.

To claim this blog, I had spent almost 1 hour trying to remember my password to re-activate my Yahoo Philippines email.

Afterwards, I had to go through the submission process for those who have forgotten their MyBlogLog password. I have forgotten MyBlogLog account password since it has been 15 months since I last visited the site.

I have written the email account and password on paper, then linked the email to MyBlogLog account using OpenID.

I hope this turns out well.
